Area Manager

I just received a voice mail from the area manager stating he is closing the claim for the deflated tire. I appreciate that he acknowledged our years of loyal patronage, but since Joy blew what should have been a minor issue completely out of proportion creating a lot of work for me I am going to stay with Avis until she moves on. I have removed the negative reviews regarding this matter.

Another Phone Call

I found time over the long weekend to reply to both the damage recovery unit and customer care only to subsequently get a voice mail from another manager at Enterprise stating "I know that you ask to speak to my supervisor." I never asked to speak to anyone's supervisor and frankly I am sick of repeating the same words to different departments and management levels at Enterprise when all they have to do is visit this blog which is linked to several review sites on which they specifically asked me to comment. I have acted in good faith and I am going to save anything further for the magistrate.

Generic Response

I finished the last of the reviews Enterprise sent me emails asking me to write today so went back to review all of them.  The first one on Yelp, the one I shared on Enterprise's Facebook page with the reminder it is against Yelp policy to solicit reviews from customers, has been deleted so I have more work to do there.  The others were just as I left them, but I found a canned response to my Google+ Local review:

"Thank you for your comments Bruce. We'd like the opportunity to look into this for you and the chance to change your mind about our services. Please email the full details, rental agreement or reservation numbers, your contact information and any additional information to care@enterprise.com. Please Reference #150519-000532 in the subject line. We look forward to hearing from you. – Annett"

I suspect this is a third-party hack intended to make it appear they care to readers without actually doing anything. Otherwise they would have been proactive and followed my link to this blog which contains my case number and proceeded from there.  Nevertheless I will do as the ask so there can be no confusion about my willingness to resolve this amicably.

Damage Recovery Unit

I received a letter from the Damage Recovery Unit today assigning claim #06473227.  It includes a form letter with numbers so I can call and try to convince my insurance and credit card companies to pay for a deflated tire.  The cover letter says they need more information about the event which may be a fishing expedition, but if I don't reply they will use that as an excuse for further action.  I will write a response, get a legal review, then forward it to them.  I am being transparent anyway sharing this blog on Facebook and review sites as per Enterprise's repeated email requests.

First Review

I got another email from Enterprise today asking me to review them on at least one of several sites.  I clicked on the first link which was for Yelp and since I'm a stickler for rules clicked on Content Guidelines to find it was a conflict of interest to ask me to write a review.  I wrote one anyway and linked it to this blog.

Cancelled Reservation

I cancelled the reservation I had for this weekend due to the pending litigation (per Joy).  Although my wife still has to rent vehicles for her job, now that I am a stay-at-home parent to a special needs daughter all my recent rentals were for pleasure.

Fire Department

Today I finally found time to write the Tygert Valley Fire Department to thank them for their assistance and ask them to confirm the tire did not appear destroyed when they changed it.  I know that is a lot to ask, but good men do good things and their notarized statement will go a long way with the magistrate. I still have not granted Enterprise's request to review them on at least one of four different sites because producing a camping-themed birthday party for a special needs four year-old was a lot more work than expected.
